It was a sunny yet nippy morning in Himachal Pradesh on the first day of 2015.
The Met Office said there are chances of snow and rain in the state as a fresh western disturbance would hit the western Himalayan region from Saturday.
"Dry weather will continue till Friday. Afterwards there are chances of snow at high hills Jan 3-4," an official told IANS.
Shimla saw a low of 3.7 degrees Celsius, a slight fall from Wednesday's 3.9 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was 14.6 degrees celsius.
Tourist resort Manali saw a fall in night temperature. It recorded a low of three degrees Celsius, a slip by one degree from the previous day.
The night temperature in Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul-Spiti, was minus 9.2 degrees Celsius and in Kalpa in Kinnaur district, the minimum was minus 2.8 degrees.
Dharamsala, which saw the maximum temperature at 14.8 degrees Celsius, was 4.4 degrees at night.
Dalhousie and Chamba towns recorded a low of 4.1 degrees and 1.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
