The Left Front Tuesday nominated Srideep Bhattacharya, of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), for the June 2 Howrah Lok Sabha by-poll, Front chairman Biman Bose said here.
Bhattacharya's name was finalised at a meeting of Left Front partners at the CPI-M headquarters Muzaffar Ahmed Bhavan.
The Trinamool Congress named former international footballer Prasun Banerjee as its candidate for the seat, which fell vacant following the death of Trinamool MP Ambica Banerjee April 25.
