The night temperature fell to minus 2.2 degrees, season's lowest, in this Jammu and Kashmir summer capital Srinagar Thursday.
"The minimum temperature was minus 2.2 degrees Celsius during the night which is the lowest this season so far in Srinagar city. The minimum temperature recorded in Pahalgam was minus 4 while in Gulmarg it was minus 2.4," an official of the Met Office told IANS:
The official said that Leh town was the coldest in the state at minus 12.6 while it was minus 10.6 degrees in Kargil town.
"Jammu recorded 9.3 degrees as the minimum temperature today."
The official said dry, cold weather is likely to continue for another week.
"Due to clear night skies, the minimum temperatures are likely to fall further during the next seven days in the Valley and the Ladakh region", the official said.
