Suspect identified in Amity varsity student murder

Police said on Sunday that they have zeroed in on a suspect in the killing of an Amity University student, though the exact motive is yet to be ascertained.

Speaking to IANS, Superintendent of Police (City) Dinesh Yadav said: "We are yet to ascertain the motive of the murder of Rajaram Sandesh though police have confirmed report that suspected killer, who has been identified as Aman, a student of Bachelor in Tourism IInd year in the same university, had enmity with him.

"Since the suspect is absconding, the motive would only be finally established after interrogation though the primary investigation indicates that Aman and Sandesh had quarrelled several times."

Sandesh was shot dead on Saturday afternoon at his rented accommodation here which he shared with two other students - Madhur and Nadeem. The former was not present at the time of incident but Nadeem heard Sandesh screaming Aman's name and pleading not to kill him. Nadeem said he was scared to intervene since the assailants were armed but overheard his friend naming Aman.
