The National Commission for Women (NCW) Saturday sought an explanation from Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi for revealing the surname of the female journalist allegedly sexually assaulted by Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal during a conference the weekly magazine held in Goa this month.

Lekhi posted the victim's surname on micro-blogging site Twitter.

"We have sought explanation from her for posting the surname of the journalist within 24 hours," said a member of NCW.
