Three children drowned in the Ganga river on Thursday and one child was reported missing, a police officer here said.
The incident took place in Farrukhabad on Panchal Ghat when a group of children dived into the river, apparently to cool off in the sultry weather.
Eyewitnesses told police that the kids went into deep water from the Ghat and could not swim back.
Those dead have been identified as Ranjeet (9), Anshika (12) and Phoolkali (9) while seven-year-old Aadesh was yet to be traced by divers who were trying to find his body.
