Assam Rifles troopers have arrested three militants belonging to the Dima Hasao National Army and seized a huge cache of arms from them, an official said here on Wednesday.

"Acting on a tip off, Assam Rifles troopers raided a village in Maibang sub-division in Dima Hasao district and arrested three cadres of the DHNA," an Assam Rifles official said.

He said four AK-56 rifles, 18 loaded magazines, and several thousand bullets were seized from them.

Police and intelligence officials were interrogating the militants in Maibang.

Intelligence officials suspect that the arms were smuggled from Myanmar through Mizoram.
