A head constable and two constables of Delhi Police have been booked for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from a person to allow him to build his shanty.
The constables identified as Vijay and Bir Singh along with a head constable who is yet to be identified, all posted at Kalyan Puri police station in east Delhi, have been booked under the prevention of corruption act.
The accused were booked Friday after the complainant provided an audio recording as evidence to the vigilance department, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sindhu Pillai said.
Pillai said the complainant had recorded the conversation allegedly with one of the constables on his mobile Dec 9.
In his complaint, the victim stated that the trio demanded the money when he was repairing his shanty Dec 9 morning.
