The body of a woman in her 50s was found in the foothills of the Aravali mountain range here Saturday, police said.
The woman was identified as Murti Devi, a resident of Raisina village, 18 km from Gurgaon. The body had animal bite marks on it.
Murti Devi was working as a helper in a private school near Raisina village, and was missing from her house for the last four days.
Her only son, who lives separately with his family in the village, told police he was unaware how and why his mother had gone to the hills.
"The cause of death will come out only after the post-mortem examination. She may have been killed by some wild animal but as of now, we have registered a case of murder against unknown people at Bhondsi police station," police officer Anand Kumar told IANS.
