Toonz forays into artificial intelligence toys, films

Toonz Animation is branching out into the making of toys which have artificial intelligence besides producing commercial films in Hindi and Malayalam.

"It's not that we are moving away from our core competency areas, but we are giving more value addition into animation. We have completed the prototype of an intelligent toy and expect to get it into the market towards the end of this year. The price of this toy, named 'Louie the Voyager', is likely to be about $100," said P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Group Wednesday.

Elaborating on their immediate plans, Jayakumar said this year they will get into commercial film production - one each in Hindi and Malayalam.
