Two brothers sleeping on the second floor of their newly-built four-storeyed house in Agra were Tuesday shot dead by half-a-dozen armed bandits, police said.
The incident took place in Nagla Dalsa of Malpura area.
Naresh, 28, and Makhan, 20, were shot dead, while their mother who tried to intervene was seriously injured, said Senior Superintendent of Police Shalabh Mathur.
Villagers came to know of the deaths around 8 a.m., when the two brothers did not emerge from their house.
Other family members were out of the village for the Raksha Bandhan festival.
