Two people, including a woman, died when a fire broke out at a hotel in this northern West Bengal town early Wednesday, police said.
Twenty five people were rescued, while three to four sustained minor injuries.
Two fire tenders were rushed to the Yatri hotel close to the Siliguri railway station after the blaze was reported around 1 a.m. The blaze was brought under control after a two-hour battle, officials said.
"The bodies of a man and a woman were brought out of the affected first floor and 25 others rescued. Three to four people had minor injuries," said a police official.
The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
