Bahrain's High Criminal Court Monday sentenced two citizens to death in connection with a bomb blast earlier this year in which a police officer was killed.
The court sentenced Mohammed Hussein and Hussain Mousa for possessing and detonating an explosive device, and Molotov cocktails after convicting them of premeditated murder and participating in an illegal gathering, Xinhua reported.
The two men did not appear in the court, when the judges announced the verdict.
Policeman Abdulwaheed Sayyed Mohammed Al Balooshi, 29, suffered fatal chest injures in an explosion in Dair Feb 14, the third anniversary of anti-government protests.
The court documents stated that Hussain gave Mousa the bomb that was connected to a cell phone, which was planted in Dair earlier this year.
