The Uttar Pradesh cabinet was expanded Saturday with two ministers of state being made cabinet ministers.

At a ceremony at Raj Bhavan here, Governor B.L. Joshi swore in the new cabinet ministers, Gayatri Prajapati and Manoj Pandey.

Pandey was minister of state for tourism, and Prajapati was minister of state for mining (independent charge).

Shivkant Ojha was also added to the ministry but could not be sworn in as he was not in town.

This was the fourth cabinet expansion after Akhilesh Yadav became chief minister in March 2012.
