An unrelenting cold wave swept the Kashmir Valley Friday as Kargil town in Ladakh region recorded the season's coldest night at minus 17.2 degrees, an official said.
Leh town recorded minus 16.2 degrees while the minimum in Srinagar was minus 4.2 degrees celsius, the Met office said.
Pahalgam recorded minus 6.4 degrees and Gulmarg minus 3 degrees as the minimum temperature Friday.
Jammu city recorded 4.3 degrees as the minimum temperature which is four degrees below normal, the official said.
The official said the cold wave conditions would continue for the next 48 hours and a further drop in the minimum temperatures is expected in the coming days.
