US special forces have been involved in an operation in Somalia against militant group al Shabaab, media reports said Saturday.
The US Navy SEALS launched an operation in southern Somalia Saturday, targeting a leader of Al Shabaab, which is responsible for the recent attack at the Westgate Shopping Mall in the Kenyan capital Nairobi that left 67 people dead, Xinhua reported citing some media reports.
According to US media, another military operation also took place Saturday in the Libyan capital Tripoli, aiming at a senior Al Qaeda figure wanted by the US for the alleged role in the 1998 bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
