Andhra Pradesh Police has appealed to relatives of people from the state missing in Uttarakhand floods of June to come forward and give DNA samples.
"DGP (director general of police) Uttarakhand, through his letter, has appealed for samples of DNA of the relatives of missing persons in the Uttarakhand floods, so that they can be identified," said a statement from the state police here.
Relatives of the missing people have been advised to contact N.K.Misara at DUNE Hospital, Dehradun, for identification of unidentified bodies.
The authorities in Uttarakhand found over 120 bodies last week, which took the toll in the disaster has crossed 1000. DNA samples of many victims were preserved before performing their mass cremation.
As many as 87 devotees from Andhra Pradesh are missing, according to the state government's website.
