French footballer Mathieu Valbuena, who is exposed to an alleged blackmail by his teammate Karim Benzema over a sex video tape, told the judge investigating the case that the Real Madrid striker scared him when they talked about the tape.
Le Monde newspaper published on Monday the statement of Valbuena before the judge last November, when he said that Benzema emphasised to him on October 6 that there were no other copies of the video, Efe reported.
Benzema warned his compatriot, according to the latter's statement, that people who possess the video tape were very corrupt and swore to his daughter that he watched some footages of the video, offering his mediation with them to settle the matter.
Benzema suggested that Valbuena could deal with Benzema's friend Karim Zenati, who is now accused of involvement in the blackmail case.
Valbuena, who now plays for Lyon club, added that he told Benzema that he wanted to pay to get rid of this problem, but he feared that people who had the video can have other copies.
