Tamil actor Vijay doesn't like to waste even a single paisa of a filmmaker, says producer Chandraprakash Jain, who has worked with the actor in upcoming action-thriller "Thalaivaa".

"Vijay sir understands the pain of a producer more than anyone. He knows how much money goes into each of his project and, therefore, is always conscious of every paisa spent. He doesn't like to waste (money) for no reason," Chandraprakash told IANS.

"I still remember we couldn't get permission to shoot in some part of Australia and were asked to wait for few days. I told the team to sit back and unwind before we could resume shooting. Vijay sir called and told me that everybody should go back to India instead of wasting money. He agreed to stay back because I insisted," he added.

The entire team of "Thalaivaa" spent nearly a month in Australia shooting important scenes.

"How many actors are concerned about the producer's money," asked Chandraprakash, who assumed that Vijay will never work with him.

"I have only made two films so far. I was wondering why a superstar like Vijay would even work in my film. I was quite surprised when he called me home one day and said that he would like to do my film," he said.

Vijay is cast opposite Amala Paul and Ragini Nandwani in "Thalaivaa", which is directed by A.L. Vijay. It is scheduled to release in August.
