Designer duo Asha and Gautam Gupta have diversified their brand Vinayak Couture by launching a bespoke handloom collection made solely by local artisans from the city of Benares.
The collection is made out of pure handloom tussar, Benaresi silk and jute net, embellished with unique Parsi gara, zardozi and kalamkari.
"Vinayak Couture believes in rich and heritage craft of our country and by developing handloom fabrics, we are taking steps towards making every piece a signature statement," Gautam told IANS.
Breaking the myth that handloom saris are a serious affair, the designer duo has tried to give handloom art a fun and youthful appeal by using motif designs on bright and vibrant colours.
