Rio de Janeiro, June 19 (IANS/EFE) Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo said that his side gave a spectacular performance while defeating Spain 2-0 in Group B of the FIFA World Cup at the Maracana Stadium here Wednesday.
"Spain was very comfortably trying to compete against us and we knew that. We knew that their morale was already affected too but we have done really well," Bravo said, reports EFE.
After eliminating Spain from the tournament, Chile secured their place in the Round of 16 along with the Netherlands, who thrashed Spain 5-1 in the opening game of the group.
Title holders Spain drew heavy criticism after suffering two consecutive losses to be ruled out of the World Cup.
