At least 12 of 16 venues at Rio's two largest Olympic sports precincts are more than 90 percent complete, organisers said.
Barra Olympic Park - the biggest event cluster - is 92 percent ready, up from 89 percent last month, Xinhua news agency on Tuesday reported citing Rio2016.com.
The most advanced venues at Barra are Carioca 3 Arena and the International Broadcast Centre (both 97 percent). The least advance is the velodrome, where work has reached 70 percent.
Two venues at Deodoro Park - the mountain bike and BMX courses - are already finished.
Meanwhile, Whitewater Stadium is 98 percent complete and Youth Arena 68 percent finished. Deodoro is the second-largest venue complex.
Work on the Olympic and Paralympic village is 97 percent complete while the golf course is 98 percent ready.
