Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday conducted an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions of Ballia district and assured the people that the administration would extend all help to them in this hour of crisis.

Before this, he distributed relief material and handed over the house compensation amount to people in Bansdih tehsil.

Expressing his sympathies with the people hit by the floods, the Chief Minister said in case of any loss of life, the family of the deceased would be given a compensation of Rs 4 lakh and the people whose 'pucca' houses have been damaged, would be given compensation of Rs 91,500.

People, whose houses or shanties have been razed or washed away in floods, will be identified and after a survey they would be provided help, he announced.

Adityanath also directed officials to ensure that a list of people whose crops have been damaged in the floods is made at the earliest and relief is ensured. He also called for peoples participation in flood relief work and informed that 25 districts in the state have been badly affected by the floods and that there was no dearth of funds or material to provide relief to the people.

The Chief Minister added that a permanent action plan for flood control has been sent to the Union government. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Flood Unit of the PAC has also been pressed into service for relief to the people.

The Army has been called out where the flood situation is very grim and Air Force choppers are also being used.

Adityanath warned officials against any laxity in flood relief work.
