Zambian footballer Nathan Sinkala has been ruled out the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) Cup due to a knee injury.
Joseph Kabungo, the team doctor, Monday night said the player injured his knee during their match with DR Congo Sunday, reports Xinhua.
The midfielder limped off in the 85th minute in the game against DR Congo and was replaced by defender, Christopher Munthali.
Kabungo confirmed that Sinkala had a ligament tear in the knee.
Sinkala's departure is a blow to Zambia in the defensive midfield department that he made his own since making his competitive debut at the 2012 Africa Cup in Equatorial Guinea.
Zambia who won the Afcon trophy in 2012 will next face Tunisia Jan 22 at the Ebebiyin Stadium.
They will face Cape Verde in their last Group B game Jan 26th.
