Singer Zayn Malik has signed to RCA Records, four months after leaving chart-topping boy band One Direction.
The 22-year-old singer, who made a departure from the boy band earlier this year, says he is ready to show people who he "really is", reports femalefirst.co.uk.
In a post on micro-blogging website Twitter, he captioned a photograph of him signing a record deal: "I guess I never explained why I left, it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !! ... #REALME (sic)"
Since departing One Direction earlier this year, Malik has been rumoured to be working on his solo music. Earlier this month, reports emerged claiming that he was dropped from Simon Cowell's Syco record label.
