Cairn Energy’s move to sell its India business to Vedanta remains a sensitive issue with the government. At a curtain-raiser organised for the ninth edition of Petrotech, the floor was thrown open for questions by the media after speeches by Petroleum Secretary S Sundareshan and ONGC Chairman R S Sharma. But before any questions were asked, Sundareshan categorically stated that the questions should be on Petrotech, not on the Cairn-Vedanta deal.
