Communist Party of India (Marxist) central committee member Mohammed Selim is contesting the Lok Sabha election this time from the Raiganj constituency against sitting Congress MP and Union minister Deepa Dasmunshi, wife of the ailing Priyanranjan Dasmunshi, and has to work hard to overcome his outsider image. To this end, weeks before the Bengali new year (April 14) the Kolkata-based leader started sending greeting cards to voters. That's hardly novel since other candidates are doing the same. But Selim has something more. Along with each greeting card, he sent a schedule of the upcoming FIFA Football World Cup to reach out to football-crazy voters.
