Good for wrestlers who don’t succeed in sports but are able to find work as bodyguards for executives and bouncers (“Wrestlers get corporate identity”, June 30). These pehelwans spend years acquiring a skill and should be able to earn from it. The problem is not the employment but the use. The article says that some companies may use pehelwans to threaten the labour force. This is nothing new. Even if the pehelwans are really just used for executive security, how well will the executive behave if he is always flanked by bodyguards? What about the security of people around? There are enough spoilt, successful people throwing their weight around.
The key is manners. My suggestion to the pehelwans (as well as their clients) is: Make a genuinely imposing impression, you need the manners and style to be menacing but at the same time should polite and unobtrusive. Send the pehelwans to finishing school.
