If the Indian economy is as insulated from the global crisis as Finance Minister P Chidambaram says it is, why is there so much panic in the markets? If Indian investments are on track, then why are banks hesitating to lend — a host of banks have slashed credit limits for firms they have been lending to for years. This is the question that the government needs to address.
