On British Prime Minister Theresa May’s agenda in Bengaluru was to be a meeting with small and medium business leaders. Neither the small industries’ association nor the Karnataka industries department seem aware of such an interaction. Her seven-hour stop-over in the city on Tuesday, however, includes a trip to the tech hub’s oldest temple. With a ruling by the UK High Court concerning Brexit — that the UK government must pass a vote in the country’s Parliament to trigger Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union and begin the process of leaving the European Union — roiling the waters, a bit of divine assistance might not be entirely unwelcome.
