Punjab Congress leaders are in a fix over how to deal with Navjot Singh Sidhu. Though now a Cabinet minister in the new Congress government in the state headed by Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Sidhu has said he would continue to be part of a comedy show on television. State party leaders say that while Singh is keen on ending the VIP culture, Sidhu’s stand might provide the Opposition with an issue to target the Congress. Public servants — more so, ministers — must be “seen” as committed to social welfare, say the leaders.
