Sitaram Yechury’s emotion-filled speech on the penultimate day of the CPI(M)’s extended Central Committee meeting touched many hearts. One of the veteran leaders of the party, Brindaban Goswami from Tripura, almost had tears in his eyes and remarked, “I am feeling as if I am listening to the legendary Basavapunnaiah.” Later, another senior leader walked up to Yechury and said, ”Today you have achieved an impossible task. You have made Goswami emotional.”
