BJP assails 'immoral' alliance between JD(U), RJD

Alleging "immoral" alliance between JD(U) and RJD in Bihar to stick to power, opposition BJP today claimed that the alliance of Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad after 20 years would be rejected by people in the Assembly election in the state next year.

"Does anybody or any party give support without any purpose?" former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi asked reporters in the Assembly premises after the trust vote in Assembly.

21 MLAs of Lalu Prasad's party and 4 of Congress voted for JD(U) government in the trust motion to help Jitan Ram Manjhi's three-day old ministry win confidence vote comfortably.

Sushil Modi said that the "deal" between JD(U) and RJD became clear three days back when the 13 rebel RJD MLAs who had sought to be identified as a separate group in Assembly plea rejected and they were allowed to remain in their parent party.

Among the 13, three had resigned recently. They include Samrat Chaudhary, Ram Lakhan Ram Raman and Javed Iqbal.

The senior BJP leader justified party stand to walk out of the Assembly boycotting voting on confidence motion.

"When arithmatic is visible clearly, there is no relavance of voting," he said.

Earlier, leader of opposition in Assembly Nand Kishore Yadav had assailed "immoral" alliance between JD(U), RJD and Congress in the name of opposition to Narendra Modi.

Sushil Modi stuck to his earlier assertions of 50 JD(U) MLAs being in touch with his party but said his party was not in favour of destablising the JD(U) government.

"Yes the 50 JD(U) MLAs helped BJP in winning in general election for which I thank them...Their support to us was not to topple JD(U) government but to stop Lalu Prasad win the election," he said.

Both Sushil Modi and Nand Kishore Yadav said that seeing mood of voters, it could be said that JD(U) and RJD, who are joining hands, would be wiped out in Assembly election in Bihar next year.
