1 held in connection with murder, carjacking cases

One person, allegedly associated with Amit Dahiya gang and wanted in a number of cases of murder and carjacking, has been arrested, police said today.
Praveen (23), a resident of Narela and an active member of Amit Dahiya gang, was arrested on a tip-off from Delhi- Dhansa border on Wednesday, they said.
"He had been absconding since the encounter of gang leader Amit Dahiya in July. He was involved in a murder, carjacking and robbery in the Outer district with Dahiya and his associates," said Sanjay Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police, Outer District.
During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement in the murder, robbery and car-jacking incidents.
"He admitted that, he had robbed an SUV along with Dahiya and others from Rohini and was sitting inside the vehicle when the encounter took place. He also confessed to his involvement in the robbery of a Rs five lakh in Narela area," Kumar said.
