1006 cases of violation of model code of conduct registered

Over 1,000 cases of violation of the model code of conduct have been registered in eight assembly segments of Erode district, officials said today.
They said 1006 cases of violation of election conduct rules like writing party symbols on government buildings and placing election oriented banners in public places, have been registered.
Erode district collector and Election Officer S Prabakar said returning officers of Erode East, Erode West, Modakurichi, Bhavani, Gobichettipalayam, Anthiyur, Bahvanisagar (SC) and Perundurai assembly segments registered the cases.
