12 persons booked for gambling in UP

Police have booked 12 persons on charges of gambling at Deoband in the district and seized a car and over Rs 4 lakh cash from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of one Raju Makkar at Railway Road in Deoband last night and arrested twelve persons who were allegedly gambling, police said.
Also, Rs 4,15,100 in cash and a car have been seized from them, they said, adding that a case has been registered against the accused.
The accused were residents of Deoband, Dehradun, Haridwar, Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee, police said.
