13 shops were gutted in a devastating fire at a busy market in the heart of Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital, Fire and Emergency Services said today.
Fire broke out in two commercial buildings, housing nearly two dozen shops, at congested Goni Khan Market in the vicinity of Lal Chowk late last night and was put off within half an hour, a spokesperson of the Fire and Emergency Services said.
Goni Khan is one of the busy markets in the city thronged mostly by women customers.
