P U Vivek Krishnan, an eigth standard student, hailing from Thaikattuserry in Chertalla near here, had dived into a water tank near his house on Sunday last when he was caught in the muddy slush and drowned.
Though he was rushed to a hospital, the doctors declared him brain dead.
Vivek's father, Unnirkishnan Nair, decided to donate the organs of his son to help save the lives of at least three persons.
The private Lakeshore hospital's Multiorgan transplant Director, Dr Philip G Thomas, led the expert team during the transplant.
