2 Maha AAP leaders visit village in Yavatmal

With the intension of educating villagers on different programmes of the government, two senior leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from Maharashtra Ravi Srivastava and Sundar Balakrishnan visited Dabhadi village in Vidarbha region of the state.
Srivastava, the regional convener for North Maharashtra and Balakrishnan, convener for Mumbai Metropolitan Region visited this village in Arni tehsil of Yavatmal district from June 27 to July 1.
"We did not only galvanised the entire village by sharing various government schemes, projects, systems and procedures but also motivated the villagers to do self help and avail most of their rightful benefits from the gram panchayat and administration", Srivastava told PTI.

"After conducting at least five rounds of meetings in the village, more than two dozen farmers were taken to the tehsildar, block development officer, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited officials, Krushi Adhikari (agriculture officer) and Zilla Gramin Bank," he added.
Describing the achievements of their visit, Srivastava claimed,"We were able to resolve several issues like issue of faulty ration cards, MNREGA payments, issue of Job cards, power problems, bank loan restructuring, crop loan, crop insurance, agricultural assistance on seeds, fertilisers, pesticides, equipments etc."
"The administration agreed to hold camps for Aadhar cards, ration cards, job cards, etc at the village shortly," he claimed.

Earlier in May, the party had decided to send these leaders to the village to understand various problems faced by the farmers and impart knowledge and empower them (villagers) to deal with the current situation.

Balakrishnan said that AAP has adopted the above village and will pay periodic visits to take note on the developments.
"During our survey of the village we found one culvert which would actually have costed Rs 30,000 was constructed at Rs 1 lakh and above. We noticed that there was huge corruption at the Gram Panchayat," he claimed.
He further said they they will soon submit a detailed report to their party in this regard.
