2 men returning from funeral killed in hit-and-run mishap

Two men returning home after attending a funeral of a relative died after their two-wheeler was allegedly knocked down by a vehicle in the district today, police said.
33-year old Saravanan from Musiri in Tiruchirappalli district had come here along with his friend Govindaraj (43) for the funeral of his grandmother and were returning home when the mishap occurred in the wee hours.
The two were killed on the spot.
On being informed by passersby, the police shifted the bodies to government hospital here, Paramthy Vellur Police Inspector Suresh Kumar said.
