According to the National Seismological Centre, a 4.2- magnitude tremor was recorded yesterday at Sindhupalchowk district, 100 kilometres east of Kathmandu.
This was an aftershock of Gorkha earthquake. With this, there have been 481 aftershocks since the powerful tremor hit Nepal in 2015, the centre said.
Another mild earthquake of 4.1 magnitude struck Bajhang district in western Nepal last evening.
This was an individual earthquake and not an aftershock of April 25, 2015. The tremors were felt in neighbouring Bajura district too, the centre said.
Around 9,000 people were killed in the April 25 earthquake and its powerful May 12 aftershock in Nepal.
Donors have pledged over USD 4 billion aid for reconstruction efforts and agreements have been signed for USD 3.1 billion assistance.
So far, the authorities have been able to spend only USD 330,000 in rebuilding process. It will allow to rebuild less than 4 per cent of over 600,000 houses that collapsed in the devastating earthquakes.
