Three officers were on duty providing security to the vaccination team when a roadside bomb exploded near the Shalman Road in Khyber Agency and injured two of them, Express News reported.
The injured officers were shifted to a nearby hospital, even as the polio team escaped unhurt.
Polio teams frequently come under attack in the country as the authorities struggle to ensure an end to the crippling virus.
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) remains a tough ground for the vaccinators as they grapple with security issues and conspiracies associated with the vaccination campaign.
