22-year-old Army recruit commits suicide

A 22-year-old army recruit today committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling at a Navy hospital here, a defence official said.
Jaiveer Singh, from the Artillery Center at Nashik, was admitted to the Indian Naval Hospital Ship Asvini for a chronic stomach ailment. His body was found hanging from the ceiling in an empty room at 8:30 AM today, the official said.
Police was immediately informed and are investigating the matter. Army authorities were informed by the hospital and an inquiry into the incident is being ordered, the official added.
