According to SSP Anant Dev Tiwari, the 24-hour operation was a pre-emptive step to contain law and order before the election for 951 villages of the district.
A total of 253 offenders were arrested in 26 police stations of the district, he said, adding that there will be several other operations in the coming days.
Amongst the arrested, 84 have non-bailable warrants against them.
However, there were no arrest made in Ramghat and Aurangabad Police Stations of the district, the SSP added.
