3 arrested for confining geckos in WB

Three persons were arrested today for allegedly catching and confining endangered reptilian species of gecko at Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri district.
"Acting on a tip-off, Shahidul, Azizul and Mithu were arrested when three geckos were found confined in a wooden box at their houses at Shilbari in the district," Assistant Conservator of Forest Amrita Datta told PTI.
These species are sold secretly and sent to China, officials said.
