The incident took place on Monday morning around 9:30 AM when two men reached the residence of Rakesh Thakur on a bike and without taking off the helmets, barged inside the house and shot at him thrice and fled away. He was rushed to LNJP Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
"When the investigating officer analysed the CCTV footage of the nearby area, the assailants were seen fleeing in a car. The car was tracked down to a parking lot in Khajuri Khas where Vinod Kumar alias Chhothu who ran the parking lot was arrested," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Ajay Kumar.
On the basis of disclosure made by him, two other accused persons - Bhupinder alias Bhuppi and Ajay were arrested.
"During interrogation of those arrested, it came to fore that Rajesh, the elder brother of the deceased had conspired with Vinod and others to kill his younger brother with whom he has prolonged property dispute," said Kumar.
