Police Commissioner R P Sharma said seven persons were arrested in connection with the abduction of medical representative Suresh Chandra Das. Two pistols, five bullets, three motorcycles, 10 mobile phones, some gold jewellery and Rs 17,000 cash was seized from the arrested persons.
The Commissioner said Das was abducted at gunpoint from OMP Square in the city on October 30 night as he was returning home here from Keonjhar district.
"A special squad was soon engaged, which after close chase and search busted the abductors gang and rescued Das unhurt," Sharma said, adding that the kingpin of the gang and another associate are still absconding.
