Three bovine smugglers were arrested and 28 bovines rescued in Udhampur and Samba districts of Jammu and Kashmir today, police said.
Police party intercepted a truck at the Majalta belt in Udhampur district and during search recovered 13 bovines, a police officer said.
A truck was seized and two smugglers Mukhtiar Ahmed and Mohmmad Shafi were arrested and a case was registered, he said.
In another incident, a police party intercepted a truck in Kathua district and recovered 15 bovines, the officer said.
Driver Ashiq Ali has been arrested and a case registered against him.
