3 brothers killed in firing over land dispute

Three brothers were today killed and the fourth was seriously injured in firing when a dispute between two groups over possession of over 2000 sq metre of panchayat land in village Karia Pehalwaan took a violent turn, police said.
While Kulbir Singh (45) and Gurmit Singh (32) died on the spot, Karnail Singh (40) died on way to civil hospital here.
Their fourth brother Gurdarshan Singh, who was seriously wounded, was admitted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger, they said.
They are sons of Kartar Singh, while the accused belonged to the family of Kartar's brother Sohan Singh.

The two rival groups were at loggerheads over possession of the panchayat land for the last few years. The land belonged to the family of two brothers Kartar Singh and Sohan Singh.
SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor, who rushed to the spot, said 14 persons have been booked under various sections of IPC besides Arms Act and three persons have been arrested.
