The ad hoc court's additional district judge Prabhu Dayal Gupta passed the order convicting Dhiraj Kumar Paswan alias Mastan, Manjay Kumar Sharma and Suman Kumar Mahto - all inmates of a juvenile home - to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on each of the accused after holding them for murdering fellow inmate Bhikhu Kumar Sah.
Acting on the behest of the juvenile home physical teacher Harishchandra Jha, the convicted trio had assaulted Sah with leather belt and aluminium wire resulting in the latter's death in the remand home itself on April 27, 2006, according to the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Chamaklal Pandit.
Jha was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by the local court three years ago.
